On Friday evening, the news division ABC released a statement disclosing that they are cutting ties with TJ Holmes and Amy Robach after a scandal.
“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”
Holmes and Robach have been off the air from their morning show Good Morning America since their off-camera affair was made public in December 2022. In another report, it was revealed that ABC News President Kimberly Godwin decided to remove the two hosts from GMA3 in the hopes of tamping down gossip and speculation. It was also stated that the News President fear that such an issue could tarnish the overall GMA franchise.
Holmes’ And Robach’s Relationships Outside The Show
Since the affair was out in the public, not only did it compromise the careers of Holmes and Robach, but also the relationships they had with their own families.
The wife of T.J. Holmes, Marilee Fiebig, filed for divorce several weeks after the affair reached the media. She filed the petition in New York City. Fiebig is also the Chief Diversity Officer for Save the Children and an immigration lawyer.
Holmes and Fiebig were married for 12 years and had a child named Sabine who recently celebrated her 10th birthday on January 11. He also had two children from his previous marriage with Amy Ferson who is a well-known journalist as well.
On the other hand, Amy Robach’s estranged husband Andrew Shue filed for divorce over the summer before the affair was even made public.
The speculation between Holmes and Robach was then confirmed when photos of them exhibiting PDA were published online and spread throughout different media. Since this event, the two GMA anchors have been removed from the show and have not yet returned to their anchor desks. An investigation was conducted regarding their workplace behavior and alleged relationship according to the executives at ABC.
Another source who has knowledge of the situation revealed that the two are still together. A photograph of Holmes and Robach holding hands while walking through the streets of New York City was also posted online. As of this writing, T.J. Holmes’ Instagram account is still deactivated.

How Fiebig Is Responding To And Dealing With The Issue
Marilee Fiebig has not posted anything specific about the issue on her social media account. Last Thanksgiving, however, she shared on her Instagram the advice that she gives her daughter most often.
“Find yourself a sisterhood village in this life. When your cup runneth empty, they will be there to fill it over and more (or throw the contents of the cup at whomever if the need arises).”
