The only child of Elvis, Lisa Marie Presley, died after being hospitalized on the same day on Thursday. The American singer-songwriter was 54 years old.
Priscilla Presley, the mother of Lisa Marie, confirmed her daughter’s passing in a statement with PEOPLE.
“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Earlier that day, Priscilla shared on her social media accounts that Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. According to a source, paramedics were dispatched to a Calabasas home in the morning after receiving a report of a woman in cardiac arrest. It was then found that Lisa Marie was a resident of the said home.

Lisa Marie As A Beloved Daughter To Her Father
Last Tuesday, Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globes together with her mother, Priscilla. This presence in the prestigious award ceremony was to celebrate the recognition of Austin Butler who portrayed her father in the ‘Elvis’ film. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she called the performance mind-blowing.
“I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it. I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic that, yeah, I can’t even describe what it meant.”
Tune in to see Austin, and I do an interview together on “Exclusively Elvis," a special edition of @ABC2020, airs Tuesday at 10/9c on @ABC. #ElvisMovie
