Three months after his tragic passing, Leslie Jordan’s cause of death was finally revealed. The actor died on October 24 last year due to sudden cardiac dysfunction. He was 67 years old.
According to reports, the incident happened while he was driving his car which caused him to crash into a building in Hollywood, California. It was revealed that he was taking his heart medication at the time and that his arteries were partially blocked. Additionally, the medical reports showed no signs of drugs or alcohol in Jordan’s system as he had been sober for more than two decades.
Another report stated that the comedian had complaints of shortness of breath a few weeks prior to the accident. He also had a scheduled appointment with his heart doctor in the near future at that time.
Leslie Jordan’s Involvement In Music
Several days after Jordan’s death, his sister Cricket shared his new music. However, they did not get the chance to share the music with the world before his tragic death.
Cricket wrote on Instagram about how Leslie brought love, light, and joy into the world.
“As Leslie says, “kiss yo blues bye bye”. Surround yourself with friends and family and take a minute to love, laugh and dance. We hope you enjoy this song and dance as much as Leslie enjoyed making it.”
Shortly after Jordan’s passing, the team handling his Instagram account shared a statement to confirm the news.
“The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share your memories and comfort each other during this time.”
The last Instagram post that Leslie himself shared showed a video where he was singing a hymn with songwriter Danny Myrick. It also said that Danny helped him with a new original song.
Leslie Jordan’s Life Before His Death
Jordan is well-known for the characters he portrayed in Will & Grace, American Horror Story, and Call Me Kat, among others. He then started to grow more social media followers during the pandemic lockdown when he started sharing heartwarming, funny, and relatable videos on his Instagram.
The beloved actor also opened up about his life as a gay man. He shared stories and life experiences that his followers loved about him.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Jordan stated that it was one of the first times he felt truly seen for who he was and not just as the characters he played on TV.
“People knew me from my characters, but I’m amazed that people discovered me as me. They loved me. And they came back.”
Friends And Fans Paid Tribute To Jordan
Mayim Bialik, a co-star in Call Me Kat, wrote on her social media accounts that Jordan was a dear mentor and beloved friend.

In December, Jordan’s Instagram account shared a photo of him and Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss dancing on Ellen, which is a tribute to tWitch who died that month.
