This extraordinary hero, residing in Los Angeles, took remarkable steps to assist a homeless woman named Irene “Smokie” McGee, who had been living in the vicinity of his home for a decade following the tragic loss of her husband and subsequent homelessness.
Despite reaching the age of 60, Irene endured the harsh reality of sleeping on the unforgiving ground, relying on recycling endeavors to earn money for meals. Her nightly shelter primarily consisted of a spot outside an apartment complex, where a compassionate resident took the initiative to familiarize himself with her story. Expressing his profound concern, Elvis Summers remarked, “She’s not just another faceless individual; she’s a 60-year-old mother and grandmother forced to sleep on the ground. It’s simply unjust.” Deepening their bond of friendship, Elvis made the heartfelt decision to construct a home for Irene, unable to bear witness to her continued nights on the streets.
