The Sprouse Twins Today: A Peek into Their Lives at 30

Do you remember those cute identical twin boys who won our hearts nearly 25 years ago with their endearing roles in “Big Daddy” alongside Adam Sandler? Well, they’ve grown up. Dylan and Cole Sprouse, now dashing 30-year-old men, have come a long way since their early days in the spotlight. While they may not be as inseparable as they once were, their bond remains strong.

In 1992, two adorable blond boys entered the world, and at just 8 months old, they embarked on their journey into the entertainment industry. Dylan and Cole Sprouse quickly became sought-after for commercials, TV shows, and movies, often sharing roles as a single toddler or child. Hollywood had recognized the value of identical twins, thanks to child labor laws that limited working hours for young actors. And for the Sprouse twins, their double presence was a winning formula.

Their big breakthrough came with the TV comedy series “Grace Under Fire,” where they played the son of Brett Butler’s beloved character, Grace Kelly, from 1993 to 1998. Starting as infants and growing into articulate and active six-year-olds, Dylan and Cole flawlessly shared the role of Patrick Kelly. The twins’ talent was undeniable, leading some to speculate whether they could follow in the footsteps of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, famous for their roles in “Full House.”

Tim Grey, writing for Variety, pondered the potential of the Sprouse twins, saying, “As Grace’s 8-month-olds, it’s impossible to tell at this point if Dylan and Cole Sprouse are the Olsen twins of tomorrow.”

In a 2022 interview with People magazine, Cole shared his admiration for Sandler, whom he had known for many years. He praised Sandler’s career, noting his remarkable ability to strike a balance between artistic endeavors and commercial success—a skill that Cole considers the hallmark of a true working actor. Cole also commended Sandler for uplifting his fellow actors and friends in the industry, an aspect that he found truly inspiring.

From 2000 to 2002, the dynamic duo of Cole and Dylan temporarily went their separate ways when Cole landed a role on the hit TV series “Friends.” Portraying Ben, the young son of Ross Gellar (played by David Schwimmer), Cole took on the role solo, marking the first time they didn’t act together.

When asked about his favorite episode of “Friends” that he appeared in, Cole fondly recalled “The One with the Holiday Armadillo.” He reminisced about his fascination with the costumes and practical effects used in the episode, highlighting the lasting impression it made on him.

Not only were costumes a fascination for Cole during his time on “Friends,” but he also harbored a significant crush on his co-star, Jennifer Aniston, who portrayed Rachel. In an interview with TODAY, Cole candidly admitted, “I’m pretty sure I fell in love with Jennifer Aniston, which the whole world had at that point.” However, he also shared feeling intimidated around her due to his infatuation, leading to moments of stage fright and even forgetting his lines when she sat next to him on the couch during an episode.

As they entered this new phase, Dylan and Cole started to showcase their unique talents and interests, setting the stage for their respective journeys as individuals within the entertainment industry.

As teenage heartthrobs, Dylan and Cole Sprouse gained a growing fan base and captured the attention of young girls everywhere. Despite the attention, the twins remained level-headed and transitioned to the next phase of their lives. They both enrolled at New York University, with Dylan pursuing video game design, and Cole delving into humanities and archaeology, showcasing their diverse interests and passions outside of acting.

“I needed to take a break and step outside myself, I needed a dose of reality, and I needed to see myself in a more objective point of view. And now I think I can enjoy [acting], which is a really fundamental part about being an actor,” shared Cole, candidly discussing his need for a respite from the long-running Disney series. He expressed that despite the enjoyable aspects of that time, it felt like being a machine. He recognized that acting is not only about enjoyment but also a career and business. The experience provided him with the opportunity to attend college, which he considers a fantastic gift. However, he expressed gratitude for now being able to engage in acting on his own terms.

After both Sprouse twins graduated in 2015, Cole made a return to television, pursuing acting once again, this time without his brother by his side. Embracing their distinct personalities, Dylan and Cole are now venturing on separate journeys, embracing their individuality and no longer sharing a single role.

Since 2017, Cole has taken on the role of Jughead Jones, the lead character in the supernatural drama TV series “Riverdale,” which draws inspiration from the beloved Archie comic books. This portrayal has allowed him to showcase his acting prowess and further establish himself in the industry. Additionally, Cole has found love in the arms of French-Canadian model Ari Fournier, with whom he has been in a relationship for over two years.

Meanwhile, Dylan has ventured into the world of video games, lending his voice to various gaming characters. Alongside his gaming endeavors, he has found happiness in his engagement to Barbara Palvin, a renowned model from Sports Illustrated. Dylan’s entrepreneurial spirit has also led him to co-found All-Wise Meadery, a craft brewery situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

As their journeys continue to unfold, both Cole and Dylan are carving out unique paths, embracing their passions, and exploring diverse avenues of personal and professional growth.

Dylan’s take on twin movies is clear: “It’s more likely that I will write something for us to work in together, rather than someone approach us. Twin movies are never good!” He believes in finding the right project to showcase their talents effectively.

Time flies, and it’s incredible to think how many years have gone by since the adorable Sprouse twins graced the screen in Big Daddy. With their remarkable accomplishments both within and beyond Hollywood. DO NOT FORGET TO SHARE THIS ARTICLE WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
