Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, a pro dancer and beloved DJ of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, passed away on December 13 last year at age 40. His wife, Allison Holker shares heartbreaking tribute for him on Instagram a day after his funeral.
“To my husband, best friend, babe, Chee-chalker, Superman and father of my children I LOVE YOU FOREVER and ALWAYS! We will forever remember you as the true beacon of light that you were and we will continue to cast your light and love throughout the world. Thank you for our incredible memories and our beautiful life shared together.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, Allison Holker Boss has been receiving an outpouring of support and love since her husband’s passing. Their families from both sides, as well as the family created from Dancing With The Stars, have been by her side in any way that they can.
Since the dance star passed away almost 2 weeks before Christmas, family and friends have gathered around Allison and her kids during the holiday season. She and her husband Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss have three children – 14-year-old Weslie, 6-year-old Maddox, and 3-year-old Zaia.
Stephen Laurel Boss, also known as tWitch, was found dead in a motel bathroom less than a mile from their house. The cause of death was ruled as suicide by a gunshot wound to the head with no sign of foul play, according to the medical report. A suicide note was also found at the scene of his death, with tWitch writing about his past struggles and challenges ambiguously.
Two days before his passing, tWitch and Holker celebrated their 9 years of marriage. Sources revealed that Allison has managed to keep herself together for the children while also dealing with the situation herself. During this difficult time, Allison has remained to be a strong person.
A source also mentioned that Holker has been keeping her composure and not breakdown in front of her kids. Allison wants to prioritize the mental health of her children, with her eldest daughter having an idea of the situation and the younger ones that still don’t fully understand what happened.
Holker has also been reminding her kids about how much their father loves them and that he’s still with them in spirit. She wanted to instill in her children that the situation has nothing to do with them or anything they have done.
Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss has been laid to rest last January 4 followed by a private funeral attended by their closest loved ones and family.
Allison confirmed tWitch’s death in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on December 14.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
She continued and asked for privacy during their life’s challenging times.
“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”
Allison closed her statement with a message to her beloved husband.
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
